About The Band
Born in the Carolina mountains, I started playing bluegrass with my dad when I was 11. He was a banjo player at the Grand Ole Opry, and I remember when he would pack us kids up every month and drive to Nashville so he could perform. He taught me to play bass so I could play with him.
When I was 13, my parents divorced and my mom moved us to Texas. We lived in Waco and it was there where I learned to play country music and started playing clubs at 15. Ray Hennig sold me a guitar on credit when I was in high school. As a teenager I got to be well known around Waco as a bass player. My high school buddies and I had the house band at The Western Club, where I got to play with some pretty big stars, most notably Conway Twitty.
I joined the army at 17 and after 8 years I returned and began playing with local, touring bands and working at Sound Masters in Houston both as a bass and guitar player. I have been truly blessed to play with and open up for some of the biggest artists in country music. Asleep at the Wheel, Kevin Fowler, Clint Black, Mark Chesnutt, Johnny Paycheck, Darrell McCall, Jerry Naill, and T. Kaye. & Sweet Fire.
I began dabbling with song writing while in Nashville in the mid 1980’s. My first real try at songwriting was a song entitled “I Remember” which can be heard on Reverb Nation. My writing seems to lean to Country with some Praise/Worship. I have had a ball with my career so far. Now I hope to share my dreams with the world. I pray you enjoy it. Most songs are written by and recorded by me here at my home studio.
